DESTINATION BEACH WEDDING

Hello Modern Alices! Welcome to the second installment of TMA’s wedding series: destination beach wedding. Today we will be focusing on the appropriate dress code of stunning weddings held in beautiful sand beaches. If you have never been, you will absolutely love it. And for those who are destination beach wedding veterans, I’m sure that these are some of your favorite weddings to attend (we know it’s ours!).

When attending destination beach weddings you will want to keep it light and fresh. Being on the beach requires mobility. You don’t want to wear high heels and heavy fabrics or you’ll get stuck in the sand. Not only that, but you will most likely sweat profusely depending on where you are and if a breeze is nonexistent that day. So we highly suggest fashionable sandals and if a little heel height is a must, a one inch wedge at most. You definitely want to be comfortable to enjoy not only the wedding but the environment as well.

Don’t be stuck with blisters on your feet or adjusting your outfit when at the beach for your friend’s wedding! Trust us! We’ve made the mistake already.

Keep in mind that beach weddings are a little more casual than indoor weddings so you can skip the overt formality in dress code that is normally seen in black tie weddings. Now we’re not saying to go in shorts and a ruffle off-the-shoulder top, but long maxis in chiffon or jersey and sundresses with a bright floral print (that is within the color theme) is totally appropriate. These are definitely better than a gown made of crepe satin or brocade sheath dress with sparkle or sequins for attending a destination beach wedding.
