Wedding season is officially in session. With the various themes piling up on your refrigerator from different save-the-dates, it suddenly becomes a daunting task to look for the ultimate wedding guest dress that will work for multiple occasions. Although we live in a generation where we have become our own paparazzi and the idea of being caught on camera wearing the same dress is ludicrous, Self-Portrait is a brand that designs dresses to help alleviate that concern.
The brain child of this exquisite brand, Han Chong, has recently been dubbed as the “ultimate wedding guest dress designer.” His usage of lace, feminine cuts, and romantic fabrics in beautiful colors are simply stunning. The cuts in his dresses are impeccable and the craftsmanship in collaboration with the prices his dresses range for are quite amazing and reasonable. Albeit its designer price point, it’s an investment piece that is worth the price. You are definitely paying for the look and quality, not just the brand name. It sets itself apart from the traditionally steep prices of spotlight designers.
I am a personal fan of his dresses and have recently ordered my own and eagerly awaiting for it to arrive. Now some of his dresses seem like a one-time affair, but when spaced out appropriately and paired with different accessories (i.e. shoes, clutch, jewelry, etc.) and hairstyle (i.e. up or down in waves) it avoids the pitfall of looking recycled and repetitive.
Everything recommended on The Modern Alice is always to help our readers and give them the chance to feel incredible. Investing in yourself through education and physical presentation are two of the best investments a person can ever make. Believe it or not, the way you dress is something that affects how you present yourself and how others perceive you. Like a great pair of heels or the perfect fitted bra, a gorgeous dress that makes you feel incredible makes you stand a little taller, walk a little better, talk a little smoother, and raises your confidence on a whole other level. With that being said, Self-Portrait has become a new favorite for investment designers here on #TMA. We’ve always believed that quality over quantity in life is the better option especially when it comes to your clothes. The reason being is that it lasts you longer and ultimately looks and feels better. This brand is one of those quality brands.
